April to June is well suited to gardens, walking and broad multi-region touring. September and October are strong months for food, wine and cultural itineraries, with harvest activity and generally comfortable temperatures. High summer can suit the mountains, lakes and selected coastal tours, while southern Italy is often at its best in spring or autumn. Your preferred region should guide the month, not the other way around.
