Hotel Standards & Categories

Italy Touring has chosen the hotels featured on this website, for their location, ambience, character, cleanliness and service – not solely for any grading or category. Many of the hotels have been personally visited by our travel experts. Hotel standards, categories and grading differs within individual countries, therefore comparisons of hotels with other countries should be avoided. The hotel grading and categories referred to in this website may vary.

Hotel Room Bedding and Configuration

Typically the following bedding configuration applies: A single room can be a single bed in a small room or a double/twin bed arrangement, depending upon the hotel.

A twin room can be either 2 separate twin beds or 1 double bed. Preferences for beds can be requested but are subject to availability.

A triple room can be either 1 double or 2 twin beds with an additional – usually a temporary ‘rollaway’ – bed.

A quad room can be a twin or double bedded room with 2 temporary ‘rollaway’ beds, a room with 2 double beds or in some cases 4 separate beds.

Specific room types and specific bedding arrangements or requests cannot be guaranteed and are subject to the hotel’s availability at the time of check in.

Travelling With Children

Child Sharing Room with Adults – Most hotels operate a child policy. It is important that all details of children travelling and their ages are given to Italy Touring Holidays at the time of booking. Where hotels state that a child up to a certain age stays free when sharing with 2 adults, an additional bed will usually not be provided and the child is expected to share the same bed as parents.

Child Discounts – Where a discount price is featured, the child will receive an additional bed which, in most cases, will be a ‘rollaway’ bed. Hotels cannot make any allowances for larger rooms, should you be travelling with children.

To ensure an additional bed for your child or children, a triple room rate should be used for 2 adults and 1 child or a quad room (where applicable) for 2 adults and 2 children.

Child Meals – Where meals are included in the adult prices featured in this website, additional charges may be levied for meals for children who are staying with adults in the same room. This is particularly the case where a child stays free. All charges are payable direct to the hotel by you – upon departure.

Travel Insurance

It is highly recommended that you take out adequate insurance cover for the duration of your itinerary so that you will be covered in the event of any illness, injury, death, loss of luggage/personal items, cancellation, curtailment of tour enroute or advance purchase airfares. Italy Touring will not accept responsibility for any such losses or expenses.

Passports, Visas and Travel Documents

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of a valid passport and any relevant visas for destinations visited (even if travelling non-stop through them). Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of return.

All vouchers, tickets, hotel lists and related travel documents issued by Italy Touring should be kept in a safe place together with passports, other valuables. It is advisable to use hotel safes or safety boxes for this purpose wherever possible.

All these important travel documents are very difficult to replace once lost or stolen, causing unavoidable inconvenience, expense and disruption to travel plans.

Foreign nationals who are Australian residents require a re entry visa for Australia which must be obtained prior to departure.
