This 5-day / 4-night mini tour is designed for travellers with limited time who still want a rich introduction to Southern Italy’s Apulian highlights. Split between Bari and Lecce, it balances guided experiences with plenty of free time to explore at your own pace.
You’ll enjoy two nights in Bari and two nights in Lecce with bed & breakfast included, plus private walking tours in both cities with tastings of local specialties. The journey between cities is by 2nd-class high-speed train, with arrival and departure transfers included as specified.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
DAY 1: Bari
Welcome to Bari!
Meet your driver at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Enjoy your first day in the city at your own leisure.

DAY 2: Bari
After breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide in the hotel* to start a wonderful walking tour. Bari boasts the presence of the Basilica of San Nicola, an important example of Apulian Romanesque architecture. This church is included amongst the most important places of worship in the world, where Catholic and Orthodox worships blend together. Bari “Vecchia” is also really characteristic, where time seems to have stopped: women who every day, seated outside their houses, prepare the typical orecchiette (local pasta), children playing in the street, laundry hanging in the sun, and the disarming congeniality typical of inhabitants of Bari. And what about the focaccia barese? It’s hard to resist the aroma… Do not worry! You will taste it ? Rest of the day at your own total disposal.

DAY 3: Bari > Lecce
After breakfast at your hotel, at the time indicated, head to Bari train station to reach Lecce.
Once there, make your own way to your hotel, check in at the hotel.
DAY 4: Lecce
After breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide in Porta san Biagio and start the panoramic walking tour strolling through the streets of this beautiful city where you will admire the Apulian Baroque art, discovering churches and monuments.
Elegant and refined, Lecce is one of the most appreciated cities of art in Southern Italy. Here the Baroque style predominates and takes on a local connotation, the “Leccese Baroque”. This style is characterized by the fine stonework in Lecce stone and not by lavish gold decorations.
The façades of churches and historic buildings seem modelled by skilful hands. Strolling through the old town, you will admire showcases of craft shops: from papier-mâché masters to the local pastry-making. You will taste a delicious local specialty in one of these local bakeries: the “pasticciotto”, a pastry filled with custard cream.

DAY 5: Lecce
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Brindisi airport or Lecce train station.
