ATIA Accredited Italy Specialists

Why book with an accredited travel specialist?

Travel is personal, expensive and full of moving parts. Accreditation helps show that the people advising you are part of an industry framework built around standards, accountability and better outcomes for travellers.

Our View

Industry membership is part of how we choose to operate.

Italy Touring sits within the Inflight Travel group, and we believe specialist travel businesses should contribute to the standards and reputation of the industry they work in.

That is why it matters to us to belong to recognised industry bodies such as ATIA and CATO. These associations help set expectations, support better professional practice and give travellers clearer signals about who they are trusting with their plans.

What ATIA does

Australia's travel industry body

The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) represents travel professionals and businesses across Australia. Its role includes improving industry professionalism, advocating for the sector, maintaining a nationally recognised accreditation program, and supporting dispute resolution between members and consumers.

What accreditation means

Professional standards and credibility

ATIA describes its accreditation program as the Australian travel industry’s benchmark for professional standards and business credibility. Accredited businesses are independently assessed against recognised criteria covering ethical conduct, regulatory compliance, financial stability, and sound business practices.

What This Means For You

Accreditation gives travellers a better starting point

A business assessed against industry criteria

ATIA Accreditation recognises travel businesses that meet defined criteria for ethical conduct, compliance and sound business practices.

Professional standards behind the advice

Accredited businesses commit to operating responsibly within Australian legal and industry standards, with annual renewal keeping that commitment current.

A clearer path if something needs attention

Industry-led standards and dispute-resolution pathways give travellers more confidence than booking through an unaccountable seller.

Better support before and during travel

A specialist agency helps you interpret options, choose suitable operators, prepare properly and know who is behind you if plans shift.

ATIA and CATO

CATO now operates inside a stronger ATIA framework.

CATO has long represented tour operators and wholesalers in the domestic and outbound land-supply sector. From 1 July 2026, CATO operates as the Council of Australian Tour Operators Division within ATIA, bringing specialist tour and land-supply representation into one broader industry body.

For travellers, that matters because Italy tours rely on more than a booking engine. They rely on specialist operators, honest product representation, informed advice and industry relationships that keep standards moving in the right direction.

One industry, stronger standards. ATIA brings the national accreditation and advocacy framework. CATO brings the specialist touring and wholesaling lens. Together, they support an industry that is more professional, better represented and easier for travellers to trust.
Beyond Our Own Business

Better industry practice benefits everyone

A stronger common voice

ATIA represents travel professionals and businesses in industry and government affairs, helping the sector speak with more clarity on issues that affect travellers and suppliers.

Standards that lift everyone

Accreditation and codes of conduct create a shared expectation for professionalism, advertising integrity, compliance and responsible customer service.

Specialist tour knowledge stays represented

CATO brings the land-supply, touring and wholesale perspective into the broader ATIA structure as a protected division, so tour specialists keep a focused voice.

Why Italy Touring

Accreditation plus Italy-only focus

Accreditation tells you something about the business behind the booking. Our Italy-only focus tells you something about the advice itself.

We curate tours from specialist operators, help you compare travel styles, explain trade-offs honestly and support you through the practical detail. Being part of Inflight Travel adds broader travel-agency experience, flight and insurance support, and the backing of an established Australian travel business.
