Veneto is one of Italy’s most northern regions, situated on the coast of the Adriatic Sea.

Here, much of the cuisine here is based around fresh seafood and the lush gardens of the region produce some mouth-watering vegetable produce.

Veneto is known to take influence from around the world and many of their dishes are exotic and enticing.


Regional Dishes:

  • Baccalà alla vicentina­ – Salted cod, anchovies and Grana Padano cheese, cooked in milk.
  • Fegato alla veneziana­ – Veal liver, sautéed in onions, fried sage, parsley and red wine or vinegar.
  • Cassunziei – Pasta filled with ricotta cheese and vegetables, served with melted butter, topped with grated cheese and poppy seeds.
  • Frìtole – fritters sprinkled with nuts, citron or both.
  • Tiramisù – layers of espresso dipped cookies and marsala or rum flavored cream made with mascarpone cheese.
