Day 1 - arrival in Bari and transfer to Trani (night in Trani)
Independent arrival in Bari and transfer to Trani by minivan. Overnight stay in a boutique hotel in the characteristic historic centre.
Day 2 - Visit to Trani and Castel del Monte (night in Trani)
Breakfast and guided tour of Trani to admire the splendid cathedral on the sea, the port and the ancient Jewish quarter. Observing the slow life of this seaside city will be one of the best moments you will experience on this tour, also because it is a real pearl yet to be discovered. Later guided tour of Castel del Monte, one of the most mysterious and fascinating castles in southern Italy designed by Frederick II of Swabia. Our professional local guide will accompany you on a historical itinerary to truly appreciate this monument, a UNESCO site since 1996 and symbol of Puglia, commissioned by the Emperor defined as “Stupor Mundi”. Then return to Trani and overnight stay.
Day 3 - Excursion to Matera (overnight in Trani)
Breakfast and departure for Matera. Guided tour in the city of the Sassi starting from Piazza Vittorio Veneto in front of the Banco di Napoli with a panoramic view of the Civita and Sasso Barisano. We will cross Piazza del Sedile and Via Duomo until we reach the beautiful viewpoint. We will enter the rock churches Madonna dell’Idris and San Giovanni Monterrone and a typical cave house. Return to Trani and overnight stay.
Day 4 Extra virgin olive oil tour (overnight in Trani)
Breakfast and visit to a local oil mill to taste the gold of Puglia: extra virgin olive oil. Return to Trani and free afternoon. Overnight in Trani.
Day 5 - Excursion to Alberobello and Polignano
Breakfast, checkout and departure for Alberobello, A UNESCO site since 1996 and an unmissable destination when you arrive in Puglia. The capital of the trulli has a unique charm and is like no other place. You will know the history of this place which has handed down the typical rural architecture for centuries which still survives today. Guided tour of the city at 10.30am. Our local guide will show you the two districts Aia Piccola and Rione Monti. We will continue to Polignano a mare to admire its breathtaking views and its beautiful historic center. Then transfer to Bari and end of services at 16.00 pm
