HOLIDAY IN A FARM WITH TASTE ITINERARY IN THE ITRIA VALLEY IN BRIEF:  

4 nights in the farmhouse. Guided visits to Alberobello, Locorotondo, Cisternino, Martina franca.

Oil mill tour, guided tour of a winery, cooking lesson with lunch, boat trip to Polignano (or guided tour by rickshaw), tastings as per program.

Gourmet dinner in a farmhouse, dinner in a renowned restaurant or aperitif in the vineyard, bombette tasting in a butcher’s shop in Cisternino. Transfers as scheduled.

THE APULIA FARMHOUSES: A UNIQUE TREASURE. You will spend 4 nights in a beautiful masseria.

The farms were (and often still are) farms surrounded by nature. They usually consist of the owner’s main residence and the settlers’ houses with stables and courtyards. Today these structures have been skilfully restored, with conservative interventions maintaining the original stone structure and transformed into holiday homes or farmhouses.

In a farmhouse you can find a vegetable garden, an olive grove, a vineyard, common spaces such as the courtyard where you can meet as it once was, dry-stone walls, oaks and maybe a swimming pool among the olive trees or a spa.

This is why the Apulian farms take on a unique charm, giving life to a new concept of a “made in Puglia” holiday. Staying in one of these structures will be an immersive and relaxing experience in itself.

YOU WILL GET EXCITED dining in a vineyard or in a gourmet restaurant, tasting typical Apulian dishes, participating in guided tours and special experiences such as cooking lessons, tours of oil mills or cellars. Together with our professional tour guides you will discover many aspects of our culture and history that you would not otherwise know.

Arrival in Bari or Brindisi and transfer to a farmhouse-like structure in the countryside of the Valle d’Itria.

On the first evening you will enjoy one gourmet dinner in the farmhouse to fully enter this fantastic dimension.

After breakfast transfer to Alberobello for a walking tour in the company of our local guide to learn about the history and curiosities of such a particular country. At the end of the guided tour tasting inside a trullo of local products. Then visit and oil tour in an oil mill.

In the afternoon you will reach Martina Franca to admire this typically Baroque town.

Our local guide will be waiting for you for a guided tour of the city.

The last stop will be a well-known gastronomy for taste the famous “capocollo” Slow Food Presidium, already known during the Kingdom of Naples.

For dinner you will have 2 options of your choice (or depending on availability):

  • a dinner in the famous restaurant “Il courtyard a Speziale” to taste the land and meat specialties (from the courtyard)
  •  the experience of a aperitif in the vineyard at a farmhouse in the Pezze di Greco area, with tasting of 10 gourmet finger foods created by the chef.

A day dedicated to good wine and good food among the characteristic villages of Locorotondo e Cisternino.

In the morning guided tour of a winery in Locorotondo, to taste and learn about the production of local wines, including primitivo.

For lunch, a tasting awaits you at a butcher’s shop-restaurant in the heart of the historic center of Cisternino to taste the famous “Meat bombs” with various other specialties.

In this town for years now the butchers in the square have set up the area in front of their shop with tables and chairs to serve their cooked products.

From the butcher’s counter you choose the meat and in a short time it will be cooked and served at the table.

In the afternoon a nice walks ad Ostuni the white city in the company of our local guide, to appreciate the history and the peculiarities of the whitewashed houses.

This itinerary dedicated to good food and its history also includes a nice and interesting one cooking class in the farmhouse.

It will be fun to have a first approach to making fresh Apulian pasta, together with the experience of picking herbs and vegetables directly from the garden with the owners.

At the end, lunch will be prepared to taste the various delicacies.

After breakfast stop at Polignano a mare for a boat ride to discover the wonderful coastal stretch with the Grotta delle Rondinelle, Grotta Azzurra,

Grotta Ardito, Grotta Palazzese which are just some of the most beautiful natural attractions that characterize the whole area, accessible only from the sea.

If the weather doesn’t allow it, the boat ride will be replaced by a relaxing tour by rickshaw in the historic center.

It will be the perfect conclusion to this little taste of Puglia.

Then transfer to Bari or Brindisi and end of the tour.
