Independent arrival at the hotel Il Principe in Catania. Enjoy a Welcome cocktail and dinner and an overnight stay in your hotel.

After breakfast in your hotel you will visit Syracuse, the most beautiful and greatest Greek colony in Sicily and World Heritage Site. The visit will start with the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, with its Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie of Paradise and the Ear of Dionysius. Your tour will continue with a visit to the splendid Ortigia, a small island, which is the historical centre of Syracuse.

In Ortigia you will admire the beautiful Cathedral which dominates the square with its authoritative presence. The present façade is a powerful Sicilian-Baroque composition, but it gives no hint that this building was once a Doric temple. The cathedral is built upon the site of the Temple of Minerva, the legendary Arethuse Fountain and the Temple of Apollo. Enjoy free time for lunch.

After lunch your will travel to Ragusa and visit the enchanting historical centre Ibla, with its stunning baroque palaces and churches. Together with another seven cities in the Val di Noto, Ragusa is listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Enjoy a tasting of traditional local Island produce along the way. Spend dinner and overnight at Hotel Poggio Del Sole.

After a buffet breakfast, travel to Caltagirone, an inland Sicilian town, and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is a production center of pottery, particularly maiolica sculptures. (Italian tin-glazed pottery that dates back to Renaissance and decorated in bright colors) and terracotta wares. Nowadays, the production is more and more oriented to artistic production of ceramics and terracotta sculptures. Enjoy the range of pottery and the opportunity to shop.

You will continue on to Piazza Armerina to visit the world renowned Villa Romana del Casale, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its well preserved mosaics depicting mythological themes and hunting scenes. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant with a special menu chosen to provide you with the opportunity to taste the local produce. After lunch you will travel to Agrigento, a hillside town famous for its magnificent Valley of the Temples, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy your guided tour of the Valley, including the Temple of Concordia, which is in almost perfectly preserved condition, Juno and Heracles. Accommodation and dinner at hotel Dioscuri Bay Palace.

After a buffet breakfast, you will depart for Palermo, the capital of Sicily. You will visit Monreale en route. Monreale is located on the slope of Monte Caputo, overlooking the very fertile valley called La Conca d’oro (the Golden Shell), a production area of orange, olive and almond trees, the produce of which is exported in large quantities.

You will also visit the Cathedral of Monreale, one of the most beautiful monuments of the world with its Moorish architecture, housing very fine mosaics representing a complete cycle of the Old and New Testaments and the Benedictine Cloister in Arab-Norman style.

Enjoy free time for lunch. Proceed to Palermo to visit the historical city centre, one of the largest in Europe, including the Cathedral, the Palace of the Normans and its superb Palatine Chapel. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at Grand Hotel Piazza Borda.

Enjoy a buffet breakfast, before departing for Segesta to admire the magnificent Doric Temple (420 BC to 430 BC), and the Theatre, one of the best-preserved Greek architectural sites, surrounded by a beautiful landscape.

Continue to the Medieval village of Erice, placed on the top of a hill overlooking the city of Trapani and the Egadi Islands. Enjoy walking through its tiny and characteristic streets, the winding lanes and inner courtyards.

Enjoy free time for lunch before heading to the Trapani area for a scenic tour of the salt windmills and basins, which are still in use. Return to Palermo for dinner and overnight in your hotel.

After a buffet breakfast, travel to Cefalù, a former fishing village, now a charming coastal town. Enjoy a walk to the city center and down main street to visit the Arab-Norman Cathedral and the Medieval wash-houses built in the rock. Drive through the Park of Nebrodi and stop at the Miraglia Forest for lunch with a traditional local menu. Continue to Cesarò, Randazzo and visit the Etna park. You’ll be  able to appreciate Etna from a unique point of view – the north facing side – surrounded by beautiful landscapes. You will travel to Taormina for accommodation and dinner at hotel  Villa Diodoro, located near historic centre of Taormina.

After a buffet breakfast, enjoy a morning at leisure or for those who are interested, you have the opportunity to take an optional excursion to the Mount Etna, the highest active Volcano in Europe. Weather conditions permitting, you will travel across fascinating landscape, and you will reach a height of 1800 metres. Here, you can see the Sylvester Craters where you can enjoy spectacular scenery over the Ionian Sea (supplement on the spot; the excursion will take place with a minimum of participants). Enjoy free time for lunch.

Spend the afternoon in Taormina, a charming city called the Pearl of the Ionian Sea. Enjoy some time at leisure for shopping or walking through its tiny streets. You have the option to visit the Greek-Roman Theatre independently, with its spectacular view of Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
